Trudo_PrijemAmbassador Koviljka Spiric attended the Christmas reception organized in the Parliament of Canada on December 7th, organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Stephane Dion. The reception was beside ambassadors accredited in Canada attended by the new prime minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and his wife, and Minister of National Defence Harjit Sajjan Singh and Minister of Democratic Institutions Maryam Monsef.

During his speech Prime Minister Trudeau said that Canada came back on the international scene and wants to participate actively in the positive processes. Canada is open to global cooperation with all countries and in that everyone should find their chance. He said to present ambassadors that he see the diversity of Canadian society in them, and invited them to work together to build a different and better world. Ambassador Špirić used the opportunity to congratulate the Prime Minister Trudeau for election victory, and thank him for the support that Canada provides to BiH.

She also held a short meeting with Foreign Minister Dion. She introduced him with the situation in our country and expressed hope that during the year 2016 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak visit Canada. As Ambassador Spiric said, a good opportunity for this will be the adoption of the Agreement on Social Security between BiH and Canada, which is currently in the process of harmonization. Minister Dion supported this initiative and promised that the Ministry for global affairs would provide all necessary assistance and support about possible visits.
